The complete fit-out of a professional studio for an architecture practice in Rolle: reception, work and presentation spaces, integrated storage. Clients whose very trade is to demand precision — every line, every joint put under scrutiny.
The project grew out of a dialogue with Sophie Filipovic, of F Architecture. From her drawings, we translated a spatial intent into volumes of wood: proportions, the rhythm of the storage, the continuity of the surfaces.
A constant back-and-forth between the drawing and the workbench — every choice of material settled together, sample in hand.
Elevations, panel layout, joinery details: every element is drawn before it is cut, so nothing is left to chance once in the workshop.

Curves are never improvised. Each bent piece is shaped on a jig, lamella after lamella, then held under press while the glue sets.
A poorly controlled radius reads wrong under raking light — so we start again.
Horizontal on the fronts, vertical on the uprights: the direction of the grain is never left to chance. The veining becomes a grammar that structures the eye and gives the whole its tension.

The ultimate discipline: sorting and joining the veneers so the fibre crosses every junction without a break, as if drawn from a single board.
The shelves are solid wood, assembled with traditional joinery and fitted by hand.
The lighting is built into the thickness, so discreet you only sense it once it’s switched on.
